Weight Management

First, start by removing the word “diet” from your vocabulary.  Diets are built around an end date, cause you to revolve their life around food and they focus on deprivation.  (Which is terrible for the body.)

Next, replace the word “diet” with lifestyle.  As a Registered Dietitian my education is grounded on science, not the fad-of-the-day.  My work is based on evidence-based medicine and together, we will build a long-term comprehensive nutrition lifestyle program tailored to you and your goals.

Natural weight management can restore homeostasis and prevent and treat chronic conditions such as:

  • Metabolic Syndrome
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Diabetes / Pre-diabetes
  • High Cholesterol
  • Kidney Disease
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Natural conception

There may be things in your diet and lifestyle that can block your natural fertility, inhibit your hormonal functions, and prevent you from getting pregnant.  If you’ve been trying to conceive without success, you’re certainly not alone.

Today, 1 in 7 couples struggle with infertility.  (myself and my husband being one of them.)  It is well documented that the nutritional environment of a mother’s womb affects her baby’s health, not only at birth and during early infancy, but for the rest of his or her life.

Regardless of where you are on your fertility journey, I want to help.

When working with clients, I utilize a variety of diagnostic tools to uncover the root cause(s) that may be hindering your ability to get pregnant. I will evaluate a multitude of factors including: your fertility history & timeline, nutritional deficiencies and intolerance, menstrual cycle health, lifestyle, current food intake, digestion, environment, energy levels, sleep habits, stress level, and supplementation.

Assisted reproductive technology / in vitro fertilization

Welcome to the IVF section.  The section we all thought we would never have to read. The section we thought "would never happen to me". The section that makes you feel less like a person, and more like a lab rat.  Believe me when I tell are not alone. Per the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2013, ART contributed to 1.6% of all infants born in the United States and 18.7% of all multiple-birth infants

Myself, along with millions of others have been down ART/IVF road.  Over a 4 year period I have personally undergone hormone therapy, HCG's, IUI's, 2 egg retrievals, ICSI,  PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis), scratch testing, 2 egg transfers, countless doctors appointments and hundreds of injections. My background is much more than just my professional resume. I know the stress that comes with these procedures, I felt the sadness you experience every month when you get your period, I can empathize with the hopelessness and the desire for a baby...and because of that I want to personally and professionally make sure you obtain the results your deserve.

There  is no such thing as a medically proven “fertility diet,” but we can lay the groundwork for a healthy pregnancy by paying close  attention to your nutrition. While there are many circumstances which can contribute a successful ART/IVF round, a good diet is an excellent first step.

hormone health

Unfortunately, many people don’t feel like the best version of themselves. Too many of us suffer from PMS, polycystic ovaries, endometriosis, weight gain, bloating, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and more. While these are all too common, they are not normal and certainly no fun.  The research is in — what you eat and how you live determines how fertile you are.

B. A. L. A. N. C. E

You have the power to balance your hormones naturally and improve your conception chances. Whether pregnancy has been delayed by a specific health condition or you have an undiagnosed mystery, one of the most important things you can do RIGHT NOW, is to live and eat in a way that creates the best environment for implantation and a healthy baby.

Take control of your hormones with the right food, nutrients, supplements and emotional state.

Micronutrient Testing

Are you taking too many supplements? Not enough? Nutritional status is a vital foundation of health and performance. I offer micronutrient testing, through SpectraCell, as an additional innovative assessment of nutritional status. Unlike traditional serum, hair and urine tests, these tests evaluate how an individual’s white  blood cells respond to varied environments of over 32 vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. As a result, individual differences in metabolism, age, genetics, health, prescription drug usage, absorption rate or other factors are taken into consideration.

Cardiometabolic Testing

Poor blood sugar regulation and unhealthy triglyceride and lipoprotein levels often present long before the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.  These panels offer definitive diagnostic and clinically relevant evaluation to help define risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease  (ASCVD) and progression toward type 2 diabetes.  These check points along with an overall pre-diabetes risk score, help patients understand that not just one factor, but rather a constellation of risk factors,  contribute to the genesis and progression toward  poor blood sugar control and/or ASCVD.  Results of testing allow  doctors to know when guidance, educational referral, or treatment is  necessary.

Hormone & Thyroid Testing

This comprehensive male and female hormone panels can reveal the overall state of your hormonal balance. Like nutrients, hormones influence all aspects of health and disease - mood, sleep, metabolism, immunity, heart health and appearance. An imbalance of one hormone can initiate a cascade of events that alters other hormones.

Thyroid hormones directly regulate cell functions such as metabolism, emotions and comprehension. This test will also look at several proteins that affect thyroid functions as well as antibodies and your levels of cortisol, the stress hormone.
